How to Have an Easy House Removals Experience

How to Have an Easy House Removals Experience

Enduring a house removals process is time consuming and stressful for everyone involved. But you can make it a much easier and less stressful process with a little advance planning.

First of all, if you have pets, you might consider leaving them with the neighbors for a few days during the actual house removals. Pets stress just like humans do and they don't understand it when they see their food and water dishes disappear.

Second you should consider making a checklist of all the things that need to be accomplished before the actual move. You need to plan to make sure all the food is removed from the refrigerator or that all the clothes you need to take with you are clean and not in a pile waiting to be packed.

Third, you will need to arrange for the utilities to be turned on at the place you are moving to. If your present house is still for sale you need to arrange to keep those utilities on required to show it. A realtor can't show a dark house.

Fourth, if you have decided to pack your goods yourself, you will need to plan exactly where you will set all the packed boxes. You might not realize it but wardrobe boxes are big and tall and take up quite a bit of space. If you put six or ten of them in a room you may not be able to use that room.

Fifth, you need to plan exactly how you are going to empty the rooms as you fill the boxes. Boxes come in different sizes and strengths. They can have different configurations for specific items like mirror or dish paks. Dish paks are expensive and you really don't want to be filling them up with bedding. And remember you can use towels and bedding to safely wrap pictures and fragile items. You also need to remember either to list the room where the box goes at the final location or list the contents..
